Professional Experience
Nigel Stark is a member of the firm's Business and Corporate Finance practice group. Nigel’s practice focuses primarily on high tech and information technology companies. In particular, he counsels clients through a variety of corporate matters, including business planning, business formation, raising capital, and mergers and acquisitions. Nigel also represents clients in a variety of commercial and non-commercial transactions, especially in the areas of information technology services, software development, software licensing, open source, software-as-a-service, cloud computing, and other IT issues. Nigel has also counseled clients in establishing enterprise-wide policies and strategies regarding emerging technologies.
While attending the University of Texas School of Law, Nigel served as a summer clerk to the Honorable Don Willett of the Texas Supreme Court in 2006 and to the Honorable Bob Pemberton of the Texas Third Court of Appeals in Austin in 2005. Before joining Baker & Daniels, Nigel worked for Safeco Insurance, assisting in the defense of insurance claims and, prior to law school, gained extensive political experience working as a legislative assistant in the Washington State Senate.
